Beyond everyday general practice, St Mary Medical Centre offers a range of in-clinic procedures and assessments. Our treatment room is fully equipped, so much of your care can be carried out conveniently in one place.

Health assessments and medicals

We provide pre-employment medical examinations and individualised health screening to meet industry requirements. We also carry out driver’s licence medicals, including general health screening and basic eye testing for new and renewing licences, in line with Department of Transport requirements. These assessments attract a private fee.

Procedures and treatments

Following a consultation with your doctor, our team can provide a number of procedures onsite. These include ear syringing to clear wax build up, INR testing for patients on anticoagulant medication, and venesection for conditions such as haemochromatosis. We also offer iron infusions for patients who are found to be iron deficient.

Wound care and minor surgery

Our treatment room is equipped to manage wound care ranging from simple dressings through to more complex, ongoing wound management. On referral from one of our doctors, we also provide minor surgery, including the removal of skin lesions, lumps and cysts, wound repair and suturing, skin cancer excision and biopsy, ingrown toenail procedures and foreign object removal.

Contraception and mental health support

Our doctors offer a range of contraceptive procedures, including Implanon insertion and removal. If you are struggling, feeling low or feeling anxious, please speak with your doctor. Our team can assess how you are feeling and discuss treatment and support options with you in confidence.

Skin lesion removal, biopsies, suturing and other minor procedures.

Some of these services attract a private fee, and many require an initial consultation with your doctor. When you book, let our reception team know what you need so we can arrange the right appointment and explain any costs.
